Its beneficial properties are similar to those of tea tree, but the aroma is far less pungent and medicinal. This essential oil actually has a pleasant honey scent and may be used as you would tea tree. It has proved successful in the treatment of Streptococcal and Staph infections. Chronic fatigue can be countered using this oil as well. It is a bushy, shrub displaying flowers which are very attractive to bees. Manuka honey is used for external healing properties as it contains some of the therapeutic chemicals which are also found in the essential oil.
