This oil is used both internally and externally. It is used as a stabilizing agent and for flavoring beer. It is also known for its sedative actions and also assists in premature ejaculation. Internally, the oil is used to treat coughs, asthma, dermatitis, indigestion, insomnia, headache, menstrual cramps, tension, skin rashes and other skin related conditions. Externally, it is used for leg ulcers, eczema, herpes, dandruff treatment and in greasy hair. It is also known to promote sleep and decrease the desire for alcohol.

Instructions for Use

This oil is best used when diffused, especially at night when you have trouble sleeping. It can be applied topically when mixed with a carrier oil, but only with caution as it may cause skin irritation.

History and Additional Information

Hops flowers were mostly known for their role in beer brewing. The plant is dioecious. This means that their plants are assigned genders in the role of reproduction. It is the female flower that is mostly used for beer brewing and medicinal purposes.
