History and Additional Information

Henna is also referred to as Mehndi or camphire. It accompanies a delicate sweet licorice note which is deep and thus creates a marvelous perfume. In ancient Israel, it was used for treating boils and leprosy. They also used to dye their nails and hair with it. If one was seen without it he or she was considered uncivilized. Henna has been confused for staining. The dye present in the henna is what stains but not henna itself.
