History and Additional Information
The plant has been known to grow wild in the Mediterranean regions. It is commonly found in regions which are dry, with sun exposures and high altitudes. Helichrysum is also known to be an everlasting plant. This is due to the fact that the flowering tops maintain their yellowness as they dry out. The word Helichrysum was derived from a two Greek words which were helios and chrysos. Helios translates to “the sun” and chrysos translates to “gold.”
