Donna Stuckmayer Anderson says:
“My grandson had a bad case of Cradle Cap. He took antibiotics and it cleared up but returned very quickly. We used Lavender on him then and it completely cleared up and has NOT returned!!!”
Cradle cap is a non-contagious skin condition most commonly found on the heads of babies and infants that causes flaky, reddening and scaling . Using lavender oil diluted in a carrier oil and applying to the babies head before bed time (left on overnight) is a common way to rid the baby of the condition. Tea tree oil is also an effective treatment. As with an essential oil use on children, please consult your pediatrician before use.
Kristine Fagersten Burgess says:
“Pure undiluted rose oil on herpes/cold sore blisters will minimize the outbreak faster than anything else I have ever had my husband try. Including other essential oils/blends. He even prevented a breakout by putting a single drop on his lip one morning when he felt the familiar tingle coming on. One single drop, no blister ever formed! It was amazing! I use essential oils all the time. Being a Naturopath, I swear by them and herbs for everything.”
Rose oil works great as an anti-inflammatory and also shrinks veins, capillaries and pores. It also has strong anti-viral properties which in combination with its anti-inflammatory properties makes it a great candidate to minimize cold sore and herpes outbreaks at the first sign of symptoms. Be sure to use a high quality pure rose oil for maximum effectiveness. It is pretty expensive, but totally worth it since a tiny bit goes a long way.
Elizabeth Freer says:
“Peppermint oil is great for a lot of things I use it to wake myself up in the morning. In Japan they use it in the classroom to keep the kids alert! It works!”
Peppermint oil is commonly used in cosmetics, soaps and shampoos as an energizer. Its crisp, sharp smell opens your nasal passages and makes you instantly alert. It is also commonly used by truckers looking to replace their caffeine habit with something a bit more healthy and natural. The scent of peppermint oil works by reducing mental anxiety which causes fatigue. Try it yourself by soaking a few cotton balls in peppermint essential oil and hanging them in an old handkerchief or nylon stocking somewhere inconspicuous in the house/car.
